Alexis believes that every student deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment where their basic needs are met and they are given the resources they need to succeed. Even through small actions and improvements, big changes can be made.<\/p>\n

\n Student-Led <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p> It is easy to speculate as to what issues students are facing and what improvements could be made, but failing to receive input from the experts – students actually facing the issues and seeing possible solutions – leaves a gaping hole in strategy for improvement. Many students are willing to discuss what obstacles detract from their learning experience, and are ready to advocate for themselves and the solutions they’d like to see implemented.<\/p>\n <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>\n Equity Driven <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p> You cannot expect a square peg to fit through a round hole – much like you cannot expect each student to succeed in the same learning environment. Addressing the unique needs of each individual student improves the likelihood of success, and allows for a space that feels safe enough to ask for help when it’s needed.<\/p>\n <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>\n Research Based <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p> Finding solutions that are research-based increases the potential success of the proposed solutions, decreases the likelihood of overspending, and allows for faster implementation as a successful example has been laid out.
